Why Legacy Matters

During his lifetime, Van Gogh was a commercial failure, and he was regarded as a lunatic and a failure. In the public mind, he came to be portrayed as a misunderstood genius because he only became recognised after his death. [6] In the early twentieth century, his renown expanded as components of his style were adopted by the Fauves and German Expressionists. Over the next few decades, he achieved considerable critical and economic acclaim, and he is recognised as a significant but tragic painter whose disturbed nature epitomises the romantic ideal of the wounded artist. Van Gogh’s paintings are now among the world’s most valuable artworks, and his legacy is honoured by a muse. So no matter where you are in life, your legacy matters more, as a leader.
